People who just want to enjoy the scenery can explore the mountainside with the trails that are reserved for snowshoeing. Frozen lakes for skating fans:
Skiing isn’t the only sport that can be practiced in winter, skating is pretty popular as well. When the Memphrémagog lake is frozen, it offers a splendid 2, 5 km path that is perfect for you to slide you skates on while observing an urban scenery that is covered in white. A little further from the cities, the Lac-des-Nations in Sherbrooke has 1,3 km of frozen path put aside for skaters, when the lake is frozen enough of course. You can also walk around the lake on a 3, 5 km path that is always well lit. During your visit, don’t forget to stop by the Marché de la gare that is always lively and filled with delicious products during the weekends.
Where to relax after all those activities:
Many spas in the region offer after-skiing packages that are affordable in order for you to relax after a long day of wintery activities. The Spa des Chutes de Botlon is located in one of the most beautiful natural spa sites of the province. Located at the foot of the Missisquoi lake falls, it is opened all year long and has spectacular sceneries to offer during winter. Whether you need to relax in a hot bath or unwind your sore muscles with the help of a massage, the spa has many complete services that are sure to relax you in no time.
Of course, the region offers many other activities that are not listed here. It is impossible to do them all in one day, however, by renting a condo with your friends and family for a weekend in Magog, you will have plenty of time to do the ones that really interest you and you will forget the city and the stress it can cause for at least a few hours.
